Q: Are you a dog trainer?
A: I am not a certified dog trainer. However, I have taken my own dog(s) through many levels of obedience training & can apply these principles on our walks. If your dog has issues with pulling on the leash, for example, I can certainly help you out with that. While ultimately the job of training your dog is down to you, I can reinforce the good habits you are already trying to instill in your dog & lead them in a positive direction.
Q: Why do I need a professional? Can't my Auntie Agnes or the neighbor's kid do it?
A: Let me ask you this: Does Auntie Agnes know what to do in case of an emergency? Can the neighbor's kid read a dog's body language & prevent a possible attack on a child or another animal, or an attack on them from someone else's animal? You need someone who is licensed, bonded, insured & certified in canine first aid. Pet care professionals adhere to strict standards, designed to protect the animals & to enhance the services provided to the pet's owner. Isn't it worth your peace of mind knowing your pet is receiving the best possible care?
Q: What happens at the free consultation?
A: The free consultation visit is my chance to meet you & your loveable dog. This is where a relationship of mutual trust begins. It is best for this visit to take place at the location where I will be picking up your dog. At the consultation we agree upon the details of the services you need, we sign an agreement, payment is made prior to service & you provide me with a key to your house. This is where the licensing, bonding & insurance comes in. Under no circumstances will I breach that trust. Also, at the consultation, I provide you with a signed copies of my professional code of ethics & standards.
Q: What if I'm uncomfortable giving you a key to my home?
A: As long as I have access to walk your dog you are free to make whatever arrangements you are comfortable with. Maybe a neighbor, friend or relative could grant access. The dog can also be picked up from your office or maybe a neighbor's house who is home. It is up to you. I want you to be comfortable & at ease with the service.
Q: Do you provide dog daycare & boarding services also?
A: At this time I provide only private & group dog walking services. In time, however, I may expand the business to include daycare & boarding services.
